We Are PAWBAM — Built by Breeders, for Breeders
Since 2022, PAWBAM has been the registered home of dog breeders, marketers, handlers, and pet lovers in Jos, Plateau State. We are not just an association — we are a community built on trust, welfare, and a genuine love for what we do.
How It All Started
For years, dog breeders and marketers in Jos worked largely on their own. There was no structure bringing them together, no shared standards to guide how business was done, and no way for buyers to know which breeders they could truly trust.
Good breeders were doing great work — but without a recognised body behind them, that work often went unnoticed. And when challenges came — disputes, losses, financial pressure — there was nobody to turn to.
In 2022, that changed. A group of dedicated breeders and pet lovers in Jos came together with a clear purpose: to build something that had never existed in their community before.
Registered under RC No. 181851 and guided by a full constitution, PAWBAM was built from the ground up by the very people it serves. Today, it stands as the only association of its kind in Plateau State — and it is only getting stronger.
Our Mission & Vision
Every decision PAWBAM makes is guided by these two core commitments.
Our Mission
To promote responsible dog breeding, protect the welfare of animals and members, accredit breeders to a recognised standard, and create a thriving, supportive community for dog breeders and marketers across Jos and Plateau State.
Our Vision
To become Nigeria's most trusted and respected association for dog breeders and pet marketers — positioning Jos as a centre of excellence for ethical breeding, animal welfare, and professional development in the pet industry.
Our Goals and Objectives
PAWBAM was founded with fifteen clear objectives. Every one of them exists to raise the standard of dog breeding in Jos and support the people who make it happen.
