Everything you need to know about PAWBAM — from joining to what we do for our members.
PAWBAM stands for the Pet Association and Welfare for Dog Breeders and Marketers, Jos. We are a formally registered association — RC No. 181851 — that brings together dog breeders, marketers, handlers, and pet enthusiasts in Jos, Plateau State. We exist to raise standards, support our members, and build a trusted community for everyone involved in the dog breeding industry.
Membership is open to anyone based in Jos who accepts our objectives and has an interest in dogs. This includes dog breeders, marketers, handlers, and general pet enthusiasts. Whether you are just starting out or have years of experience, PAWBAM welcomes you.
To join, simply get in touch with us via email, phone, or WhatsApp. We will send you the official registration form. Once you complete it and pay the ₦5,000 registration fee, your application will be reviewed by our Executive Committee. If approved, you become a full PAWBAM member with access to all benefits.
The one-time registration fee is ₦5,000. After that, members pay ₦1,000 in monthly dues. These contributions go directly into running the association and funding the welfare benefits that every member can access.
PAWBAM members enjoy a wide range of benefits including emergency veterinary support, subsidised vaccination and deworming campaigns, micro-grants and revolving loans for kennel improvement, bereavement and hardship support, training workshops, market events and exhibitions, and dispute mediation services. You also get listed as a verified breeder on our website.
Every PAWBAM member goes through a review process before being listed as an approved breeder on our website. Our Executive Committee assesses each applicant's breeding practices, commitment to animal welfare, and willingness to operate within our constitution and standards. Approval is ongoing — members who fall short face sanctions, including removal from the approved breeders list.
PAWBAM is an association, not a marketplace. We do not sell dogs directly. However, our Approved Breeders page lists all PAWBAM-verified breeders in Jos that you can reach out to. Every breeder on that list has been reviewed and meets our standards of responsible breeding.
If you have a concern about any PAWBAM member or approved breeder, please email us at info@pawbamjos.com with the details of your complaint. We take all complaints seriously and have a formal process for investigating and resolving disputes. All reports are handled with discretion.
Yes. PAWBAM regularly organises training sessions, vaccination campaigns, dog exhibitions, and market events for our members and the wider public. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok at @pawbamjos to stay updated on upcoming activities.
We are always open to partnerships with organisations that share our commitment to animal welfare and responsible breeding. If you are interested, please email info@pawbamjos.com with the subject line Partnership Enquiry and we will be in touch.
PAWBAM is where dog breeders and marketers in Jos come to grow, get support, and be taken seriously. If you are ready to be part of something bigger than yourself, we are ready to welcome you.
